If you are a new mother then it is very easy to find yourself stressing about how your unborn child is progressing. Not knowing how they are going and always worrying is both unhealthy for you and the baby. You can easily hear your baby’s heartbeat if you have a fetal Doppler monitor. This makes it extremely easy to listen to your child and you only need to follow and few simple steps and you will know how to hear your baby’s heartbeat.
Depending on the machine that you have the steps will be different, however the basic idea is the same. Within a short time you will be listening to your child’s heartbeat and once you get the hang of it you can do it whenever you want or need too. This is much easier and more convenient than waiting for your next doctor’s appointment.
The first important step is to turn the machine on. This is usually a simple button depending on the model.
The second step is to take the probe that you will place onto your belly, and put the ultrasound gel that is provided on it. This gel will ensure that the sound waves are transmitted much better and you will get a good reading and hear your baby’s heart beat much more clearly.
The third step is to place the probe on the lower exposed stomach. This is the area that the baby will be sitting in, you may need to lower your pants a little bit in order to get better access.
The fourth step is to move the probe around until you find the right place. You will not find it right away and it is very important that you keep on moving around as your baby can be in all kinds of weird positions! Just be patient and keep searching for the heart rate, you will find it eventually. You will get better and better at the process once you get the hang of it and finding your child’s hear beat will be very easy.
